After three years at design school in Europe, Ton decided to take a completely different direction and became a truck driver. This was a great way for him to see Europe, but the pull of creativity was too strong – he joined a leading visual merchandising company in Europe and gained extensive experience before moving to NZ and starting his own company.
Ton’s decades of practical experience means he can create a 2D concept and successfully execute its 3D installation. His expertise lies in creating displays that count. Clients often refer to Ton as a visual genius, creating installations like nothing they’ve ever seen before, using his extensive range of stock and custom-sourced props… and his out-of-the box ideas. Ton’s eye for design has garnered him a solid fan base – his Pinterest account gets 2.5m hits a month!
Michelle van der Veer
Michelle has spent 25 years working in business development, including 14 years heading her own successful Australasian distribution company. The company designed and manufactured bespoke products for private labels growing to supply over 1000 stores across Australasia with international brands and fashion-forward homeware.
She sold the company in April 2018 and now brings her extensive experience in business development, design, production and importing to the Ton van der Veer business. Michelle’s first-hand knowledge of the retail environment is particularly helpful to retail clients and her ability to source and manufacture custom products means it’s even easier to make Ton’s crazy ideas a reality.
